10. John Wick Had A Less Than Gripping Original Title
It is no secret that films sometimes change their title in their early stages of development, and John Wick was no different. Before the 2014 actioner got its title from its violent protagonist, it was known by the straight-to-DVD-sounding title 'Scorn'.
This initial name did capture some of the feature's thematic content, but at the same time did not stand out and was not memorable. Fortunately, this all changed due to a brief marketing error, according to Derek Kolstad in an interview with Comicbook.com.
The screenwriter mentioned that Keanu Reeves kept on referring to the feature as 'John Wick' in interviews and the filmmaking team realised that the actor's mistake was a blessing in disguise, as it gave them free marketing for the project as the title John Wick was far more captivating than Scorn.
