Despite the fact George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola are among the most influential film directors ever, their movies couldn't be more different. Because of this, many people are baffled to learn the pair have been long-time friends since the 1960s. In fact, Lucas helped Coppola with 1969's The Rain People and based the Star Wars character, Han Solo, off the renowned filmmaker.

Since the duo are always eager to help one another, it's no surprise Coppola asked Lucas to shoot a scene for The Godfather.

After the Don's assassination attempt, we see a newspaper headline read, 'Vito Corleone Feared Murdered'. It's impossible to tell but this simple shot was performed by the visionary Star Wars director.
