Rather than simply pulling the bow with a straight wrist as a human would, Neytiri twists her wrist to the side, which in addition to just looking cool actually has a plausible physical reason.

According to James Cameron himself, the Na'vi fire arrows this way due to their different physiology to humans, and some fans have also suggested it could be due to Pandora's unique atmosphere, which has 20% less gravity than Earth.

But again, it just looks cool as hell, while giving the Na'vi another behavioural attribute distinct from humans.
