20 Things You Somehow Missed In Avengers: Infinity War

17. Tony Stark's Pop Culture References

From the moment Tony Stark took Peter Parker under his wing, recklessly took him out of school to fight Captain America in Germany, and gave him a shiny new suit, he was arguably one of the most important people in the young man's life.

He helped him get to the next level of being a superhero, though had to scald him on multiple occasions. Peter continued to follow the Vulture and put the people on the Staten Island ferry at risk because he didn't listen to his mentor.

Some of the scalding wasn't so serious however. Peter loves his movies and used the likes of Star Wars and Aliens to help defeat Giant Man and Ebony Maw, but after he referenced an alien coming out of his chest in Infinity War, Tony told him he wanted no more pop culture references for the entire trip.

This however, is something that Tony does all the time. From calling Thor Point Break, to calling Star Lord Flash Gordon even after forbidding this exact kind of reference from Peter, Tony constantly broke his own rules.
