20 Things You Somehow Missed In Avengers: Infinity War
16. A Captain Marvel Easter Egg
Since her introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019, with the next movie following directly on from Infinity War, it's not unfair to say that Captain Marvel has underwhelmed somewhat. She was one of the most anticipated characters yet to come in the franchise for some time, but things only seem to have gone downhill.
An incredibly popular character in the comics, the first major tease of Carol Danvers' appearance came in the first Infinity War post-credit scene, in which Nick Fury sent her a distress signal, bringing up the classic red and blue logo on his retro pager.
A middle-of-the-pack solo movie, a cameo in Avengers: Endgame that didn't help opinions of her character, and a tease for The Marvels in Ms. Marvel later, fans haven't quite taken to Carol Danvers. At this point however, this initial tease was huge, but it wasn't actually the first Captain Marvel Easter Egg in the MCU.
This title is held by Cull Obsidian, who when he invaded New York next to Ebony Maw had a sash hanging from his midriff with the unmistakable colours of Captain Marvel's costume. According to The Art of Avengers: Infinity War, this was an award of sorts for defeating a great foe, so could Cull Obsidian have tangled with Captain Marvel before? The two never shared the screen in the MCU, so it's likely this question will never be answered, but there is no way those colours were chosen by accident.
