In Biff's alt-1985 dystopia, it's revealed among other things that Doc has been committed to a mental hospital, having been declared legally insane.

This is revealed by way of an edition of the Hill Valley Telegraph, which also includes an incisive headline that mentions Richard Nixon is still the President of the United States and currently seeking his fifth term as the POTUS.

Worse still, a sub-heading states that he vows to end the Vietnam War by 1985.

Considering that, in our slightly less-terrible reality, Nixon was out of office by 1974 after serving a single term (rather than the two-term limit) and the Vietnam War ended the next year, that's quite the nightmarish alternate outcome.

The newspaper does beg the question, though: why is Doc's committal the lead story instead of an extremely important piece about the President and the Vietnam War?
