At the premiere, the camera glides up the stairs as Shosanna walks past Nazi Fredrick Zoller (Daniel Brühl), who is signing autographs for a group of three young women.

While you probably assumed these women were either ambitious female officers or simply some of Zoller's many fangirls, that's actually not quite the case.

Their distinctive brown jackets instead indicate that they're part of the Bund Deutscher Mädel - aka the League of German Girls or Band of German Maidens - the girls' branch of the Hitler Youth.

It's yet a further testament to the film's outstanding production design and the clear meticulous detail that went into encapsulating the time period - no matter its revisionist slant.
