At film's end, the doors to the cinema are locked, and a giant fire is set behind the cinema screen, all while spliced-in footage of Shosanna laughing at the assembled Nazis plays out, complete with voiceover in which she explains that they're being murdered by a Jew.

Shosanna's speech is spoken in English, reportedly as an additional punch to the gut for the Nazis, many of whom wouldn't understand what she was saying, much like Shosanna being unable to understand Hans Landa at the start of the film and having no idea that he was about to shoot up the floodboards.

This was apparently suggested to Tarantino by Shosanna's actress herself, Melanie Laurent, who felt it would be more impactful.
