It's widely recognised that gangster film icon Guy Ritchie was once in line to bring this particular crime story to life before Matthew Vaughn eventually stepped in due to the Snatch director's Revolver commitments.
What is a little less known, however, is the fact that the folks behind the eventual flick actually managed to sneak a little Ritchie Easter egg of sorts into their finished article in the form of a rather specific locale.
During the sequence that sees Craig's leading man hook up with Miller's Tammy in a hotel, said steamy exchange was shot in the St Martin’s Lane hotel. Hilariously, the suite used for the scene actually once acted as the room Ritchie lived in for a spell on the back of a break-up with a partner.
So, the crew behind Layer Cake felt it would be an absolute hoot to have XXXX and Tammy's sexual encounter go down in Ritchie's former quarters.
