20 Things You Somehow Missed In Mad Max: Fury Road

7. The Organ Mechanic's Telling Tattoo

Joe then takes the The Splendid Angharad's body to his doctor, better known as The Organic Mechanic (Angus Sampson).

The Organ Mechanic performs a C-section on Splendid but has the displeasure of informing Joe that his unborn son didn't survive the accident, and if you look closely at the doctor's arm, he's sporting a rather fitting tattoo.

The Organ Mechanic has a tree tattooed on his arm which is actually taken from Charles Darwin's 1837 sketch of the "tree of life" which he used to conceptualise his theory of evolution.

That this very scene sees Joe learn that his dead unborn son was free of the various birth defects affecting his other sons only makes it that much more fitting.
