20 Things You Somehow Missed In Scream
9. Linda Blair Has A Cameo As A News Reporter
Roughly 40 minutes into the movie, there's a cameo that seems so obvious in retrospect and yet can be so easily missed by those not looking out for it.
The morning after Sidney's first encounter with Ghostface, an aggressive reporter asks Sidney, "So, how does it feel to be almost brutally butchered? People want to know! They have a right to know!"
The reporter is player by none other than Linda Blair, the Oscar-nominated star of the Exorcist franchise.
Yet given that Scream was released some 23 years after Blair made her first appearance as possessed child Regan MacNeil, and her career was very much winding down by the mid-90s, there's no shame in missing it.
This wasn't Blair's first collaboration with Craven, though, having previously starred in his 1978 TV horror movie Stranger in Our House (known in Europe as Summer of Fear).
