20 Things You Somehow Missed In Shutter Island

15. The Patient Flirting With Chuck

Shutter Island
Paramount Pictures

Early in the movie, Teddy and Chuck speak with one of Ashecliffe Hospital's patients, Bridget Kearns (Robin Bartlett), who killed her husband with an axe.

When Teddy asks her about Dr. Sheehan, she becomes visibly nervous and trips over her words, before saying that he's nice and "Easy on the eyes, as my mother would say."

Scorsese then cuts directly to Chuck, who awkwardly looks away before sheepishly letting out a sly smile.

On an initial viewing most will surely pawn this off as Chuck simply being mildly exasperated with Kearns deviating to discuss a mundane detail, when in fact he's getting a little bashful because, of course, she's talking about him being a handsome devil.
