20 Things You Somehow Missed In Solo: A Star Wars Story
17. Tobias Beckett's Disguise
As a smuggler, it's
to be expected that Lando Calrissian would have his ways of avoiding being
recognised. A famously handsome man, impossibly so when portrayed by both Billy
Dee Williams and Donald Glover, and not exactly shy of attention when he wanted
it, he had to be able to lose it when necessary.
When infiltrating Jabba's palace in an effort to free Luke Skywalker from a date with the Sarlacc, Lando suited up in a disguise that covered most of his face. In a callback to the original trilogy, Tobias Beckett wore the exact same disguise during the heist on Kessel in Solo.
Though Han Solo's mentor did shed the costume relatively quickly, it served its purpose in helping get Han and Chewie inside the Pykes headquarters. As he was only a small part of the plan, you could easily have missed that it was the same disguise, but it does make perfect sense.
Stored on the Millenium Falcon, it was again there for Lando all those years later.
