20 Things You Somehow Missed In Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones
5. The Coincidental Vader Foreshadowing
Alongside the eventual betrayal at the hands of the Clone army, another Prequel descent into darkness that was very much inevitable from the moment he arrived on the scene came in the form of Anakin Skywalker's inescapable transformation into the infamous Darth Vader.
And while Lucas wasn't exactly shy about reminding folks of the fate heading this tortured Jedi's way over the course of his trilogy, setting a Vader shadow behind a young Ani in promotional material for The Phantom Menace, another seemingly Sith silhouette that would eventually rear its head in Attack of the Clones wasn't actually part of the original plan.
Upon spotting the fact that Christensen's shadow unexpectedly resembled his character's future suited-self when talking to his beloved on Tatooine, Lucas decided to quickly thrust this compelling development into frame for the exchange. Far from being another instance of Lucas digital tinkering, as confirmed in the film's DVD commentary, this shadowy occurrence was merely an effective coincidence.
