20 Things You Somehow Missed In Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith

17. First-Ever PG-13 Star Wars Movie

While it may not have actually boasted some of the more unsettling and brutal moments George Lucas originally had planned for the conclusion to his Prequel Trilogy epic, the visuals of everything from Anakin alluding to the cutting down of innocent children to a severely melted Palpatine letting loose "UNLIMITED POWER!" were still enough to guarantee a first for the creator's galaxy far, far away...

As it goes, Revenge of the Sith holds the honour of being the first-ever Star Wars feature to head into theatres with a PG-13 certificate. Oddly enough, though, neither of the aforementioned moments were said to have contributed towards the film being released under this rating, with it actually being the moment Anakin is burned to a crisp on Mustafar that was responsible for the eventual PG-13 decision.

And since Episode III, the majority of Star Wars flicks have come equipped with this same certificate, while the Original Trilogy flicks never crept above a PG rating upon their debuts.
