20 Things You Somehow Missed In Star Wars: Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi
19. The First On-Screen Female Droid
While Phoebe Waller-Bridge's L3-37 may act as the first real primary female droid to make her presence known in the galaxy far, far away, doing so in Solo: A Star Wars Story, she wasn't actually the first lady droid to appear on our screens.
It took two whole movies before George Lucas and the gang found a way to unleash Star Wars' first notable droid that didn't identify as a male, with Episode VI debuting EV-9D9 during C-3PO and R2-D2's time as Jabba the Hutt's new gifts.
Coldly ordering the famous protocol droid and astromech to act as Jabba's new interpreter and accompany him on his sail barge, respectively, EV-9D9's chilling debut came equipped with the first moving droid mouth, too.
The Mandalorian fans will also likely recognise the droid for her brief appearances in the series whilst working as a bartender in the wake of being reprogrammed after Jabba's death, with Mark Hamill voicing the female droid on this occasion.
