14. King Koopa Was Inspired By Donald Trump
If you grew up watching Super Mario Bros. and haven't seen it in a while, you'll almost certainly be surprised to see just how much of a blatant caricature King Koopa is of Donald Trump.
A tyrannical business mogul with epic delusions of grandeur and a major case of germaphobia, it's not a stretch to observe the obvious parallels between the two, not to mention Koopa's bleach blonde hairdo and similar choices of attire.
And to take it even further, throw in a dash of Trumpian nepotism, given that Koopa hires his own dim-witted cousins, Iggy (Fisher Stevens) and Spike (Richard Edson), as his henchmen.
Of everything in the movie, this parallel might be the thing that's aged the very best.
