13. Birdo Has A Sneaky Cameo
When Mario and Luigi first make it to Dinohattan, we briefly see a reptilian-looking woman with a dinosaur egg who is accosted by a stranger, and screams at him, "Get away from my baby!"
Fans have speculated for years that this character is in fact intended to be a recurring character from the Mario games - Birdo.
Birdo is a dinosaur who can spit eggs from her mouth, and has beauty spots on her face which don't look entirely dissimilar from the Dinohattan citizen's own facial markings.
It's never been formally confirmed that this is 100% what the filmmakers were going for, but given the impressive attention-to-detail throughout, it's easy to believe.
