4. Dyson Detonates The Cyberyne Building With His Microchip Model

Skynet creator Miles Dyson goes out with one hell of a bang - literally - when he stays behind to detonate his research and stop the future apocalypse.

It's a fantastic scene, with a mortally wounded Dyson holding a large object above a detonator, the contact between which eventually causes the explosion.

Except, the large object in Dyson's hand is in fact a part of the giant microchip model glimpsed briefly earlier in the film.

In a deleted scene that was eventually restored in the Director's Cut, we see Dyson borrowing the T-800's axe to destroy the model, yet in the theatrical cut we don't benefit from this knowledge, and so it's fair to assume that the large thing in Dyson's hand is simply part of the detonator mechanism.
