In another instance of the Oscar-winning director tipping his monster-making cap to one of the true OG's of the titan-flaunting world, the ship responsible for bringing a damn Tyrannosaurus Rex into the lives of an unfortunate San Diego community actually comes equipped with a certain apish Easter egg.

Jumping all the way back to 1933's King Kong feature, the boat found transporting the mighty ape to New York in that flick went by the name of the S.S. Venture. Sure enough, that was exactly the same moniker handed to this Rex-holding vessel in The Lost World.

This follows the legendary gates in Jurassic Park being largely inspired by King Kong's Skull Island gate, too, with Dr. Ian Malcolm being quick to point out said similarities, of course.
