Once again highlighting that sometimes less is in fact more on the cinematic stage, Steven Spielberg's second stab at the star-studded dinosaur landscape actually came equipped with around 50% more beastly action than its older sibling.

However, the "more, bigger, better" motto used by the team behind the picture didn't necessarily equate to a superior big screen outing, with Stan Winston's desire to give fans more dinosaurs and more action not actually resulting in an equally compelling Jurassic experience for many.

There's no denying just how impressive some of said visual effects used to bring these dinos into being genuinely were in The Lost World, with some of the animatronics costing $1 million and weighing a staggering nine-and-a-half tons. But perhaps more time should've been committed to forging some equally realistic human characters, too.
