20 Things You Somehow Missed In The Prestige

1. What Do I Do With My Hands?

Hands play an important part in magic tricks and The Prestige shows this off repeatedly when illusions are being performed.

However, a simple oversight in the editing room can also be quite telling.

When Nikola Tesla is driven from Colorado Springs and Angier subsequently also leaves, the hotel manager (Ron Perkins) advises the magician that he did not consider it necessary to inform Thomas Edison's men that Tesla left a box for Angier.

When he shows Angier the box, ominously placed in the hotel's ballroom, the hotel manager stands back whilst Angier steps up to it. Remaining in the background, the manager holds his hands clasped in front of him whilst, the in the shot immediately following this, his hands are still clasped behind his back.

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
