Even Truman's sheer name harbours a few sneaky secrets. Truman is a portmanteau of "true" and "man," so obviously that it's able to hide in plain sight and avoid being noticed by most viewers.
Then there's his surname, Burbank, as is clearly a reference to Burbank, California, which in addition to being the location of The Truman Show's gigantic Seahaven studio, is also known as the "Media Capital of the World" in real life, given the large number of media companies which operate from the city.
It makes you wonder - would Truman end up changing his name once he entered the real world?
