Anthony Hopkins' time in the MCU was very disappointing to say the least. The acting legend was given very little to do as Odin, and if his recent comments are anything to go by, he was not pleased with his time at Marvel.

As highlighted earlier on, his return to the mega-franchise for Ragnarok was not guaranteed and even after he was confirmed to be part of the film, his role was still very slight and felt more like a footnote more than anything else.

This may have been due to the All-Father's initial presence in the film not sitting well with test audiences. It turns out that seeing a rundown Odin in New York was a saddening sight, and this did not mesh well with the rest of the film's more jovial tone.
