While the MCU for the most part delivers solid VFX work and other technical attributes, most of its entries unfortunately do not feature the creative flair found in the source material or even blockbusters such as Blade Runner 2049 and Mad Max: Fury Road.

Despite this, a few films here and there feature a sequence that goes above its ilk and Thor: Ragnarok is no different. Valkyrie's flashback scene where she recalls her team's final stand against Hela is an enthralling sequence that succeeds in telling a story of its own while being visually resplendent.

The stunning setpiece was realized through the combination of a camera rig, hundreds of strobe lights (collectively known as DynamicLight) and a dizzying frame rate. The combination of these factors allowed for the vivid lighting and slowed down pace that defines the scene.
