20 Things You Somehow Missed In Titanic

One of the sly character subplots unfolding in the movie's background is that of Chief Baker Charles Joughin (Liam Tuohy), a real life Titanic survivor who spent roughly two hours treading water yet was rescued with only minor injuries - a fact he attributes to drinking alcohol throughout the sinking.

In the film, we briefly see Joughin earlier on taking a swig from a flask of booze, and he reappears during the climax, where he once again has a cheeky drink while riding the Titanic down into the sea with Jack and Rose.

To the lay-person it seems like nothing more than an invention of Cameron's, but in fact he was paying tribute to one of the ship's most shocking survival stories.
