20 Things You Somehow Missed In X-Men

3. Hugh Jackman's On-Screen Crisis Of Confidence

X-Men Wolverine
Fox

Though Hugh Jackman outs himself as a show-stealer early in the movie, there's actually one scene where the actor himself has confirmed his on-set jitters are totally noticeable.

The scene where Logan meets Rogue on the train before Magneto shows up was one of the first shot for the film, and Jackman's vocal register is decidedly more weak compared to practically every other single scene in the movie, apparently a result of him having not "found" the character yet.

The difference in Jackman's performance in this scene is extremely noticeable once you know. His more uneasy work here feels like a polar opposite to his more confident and forthright demeanour in every other prior scene.

Jackman even went on to claim that he was in danger of being fired during the early weeks of the shoot, due to both Fox executives and Bryan Singer being unhappy with his performance.

Thankfully Jackman got over his personal crisis and managed to turn things up for the remainder.
