20 Underrated Movies You Have To See
5. Fool's Gold
Fool's Gold came out in 2008, during Matthew McConaughey's stint as Hollywood's leading man in a wide array of action, adventure and romance movies. Directed by Andy Tennant and starring McConaughey alongside Kate Hudson, Donald Sutherland, Ewen Bremner and Kevin Hart (before he blew up and started appearing in every comedy going), Fool's Gold is the perfect film if you're after something light, fun and that reminds you all the vacations you've ever had.
McConaughey and Hudson play estranged husband and wife Finn and Tess, whose love for each other is steadily rekindled when they embark on an adventure to find a long lost treasure, aided by Finn's bizarre friend Alfonz (Bremner) and Tess' rich employer Nigel (Sutherland).
It's the kind of predictable fun adventure film that never fails to make audiences laugh, with its sharp and witty dialogue and always funny action sequences. Also, you can't help but fall in love with the scenery or the idea of going yachting around the world, looking for treasure. It's super good fun, and perfect if you're after something with guaranteed laughs.
