20 Underwhelming Movies From Star Wars Actors You Must Avoid

4. Crash

Natalie Portman Thor 2
Lionsgate

Actor:

Thandie Newton (Val Beckett)

The Film:

Crash won Best Picture, yet there was a lot of controversy over its win. Is this backlash deserved though? Oh yes.

Crash is atrocious and it winning Best Picture will make you permanently lose your faith in the Oscars. A contrived, simplistic, atrociously written and artlessly made ensemble piece about racism in America, this is Oscar Bait at its very, very worst and is easily one of the worst drama films ever made.

It's not necessarily a role Thandie Newton should regret, since she's actually great in this movie and so are many of the other cast members. It's a well-acted film despite how irredeemably bad it is. She is a very, very fine actress and has helped make several other underwhelming films more bearable, so it's a shame she wasn't in Solo (another terrible movie) for longer.
