20 Underwhelming Movies From Star Wars Actors You Must Avoid

13. The Island

Natalie Portman Thor 2
Warner Bros.

Actor:

Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi)

Ewan McGregor was, overall, very good as Obi-Wan Kenobi. He did a great imitation of Alec Guinness while also adding plenty of dimension to the character, making him one of the best actors in the prequels despite a shaky start with The Phantom Menace. Unfortunately, this blockbuster leading role in Michael Bay's The Island went badly wrong.

Michael Bay is a terrible, terrible director and The Island is just as awful as you'd expect from him. With dull action sequences, underdeveloped themes and Bay's always obnoxious visual style, The Island is an utterly insufferable science-fiction movie.

As for McGregor, he's a poor action lead here and simply cannot do an American accent to save his life. It's definitely one of his worst performances.
