20 Upcoming Movie Sequels That Could Be HUGE Improvements

The Meet the Parents franchise well and truly seemed like it ran out of juice with 2010's atrocious third film Little Fockers - as blatant a cynical cashgrab sequel as Hollywood has ever made.

So few were expecting a fourth film, Focker In-Law, to be announced late last year, with most principal cast members from the initial trilogy returning, alongside Ariana Grande of all people.

Even accepting that Little Fockers was widely panned and won itself a Razzie, Focker In-Law should benefit more from the passage of time than most belated comedy sequels.

After all, Ben Stiller is now older than Robert De Niro was when he played the overbearing father in the original movie, so there's plenty of potential comedy and drama to be mined from the role reversal, as Stiller is now playing the concerned father.

While few are expecting a classic from this one, if it can mine humour and pathos from the march of time, then it could very well be a rare third comedy sequel that really works.
