20 Upcoming Movie Sequels That Could Be HUGE Improvements
10. A Quiet Place Part III
The original A Quiet Place was a superbly crafted and thoroughly original horror-thriller that proved successful enough to launch a wider franchise.
A Quiet Place Part II was pretty good, though definitely lacked some of its predecessor's novelty factor while not really doing much to expand upon what came before.
This might well speak to how quickly John Krasinski made the sequel, which was shot barely a year after the first film came out, but for the upcoming third and apparently final entry into the mainline franchise, he's taken considerably longer to put everything together.
A Quiet Place Part III will release in July 2027, some eight years after Part II was shot, ensuring that Krasinski will have had oodles of time to figure out a more imaginative path for what's intended to be an epic conclusion to the Abbott family's story.
The success of last year's prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One, also proved that these movies don't need to be relentlessly packed with set-pieces and might actually benefit from a greater emphasis on character development.
Krasinski is surely keeping that in mind while he develops Part III, which will hopefully wrap the trilogy up in satisfying and emotionally gratifying fashion.
