11. Shazam! (Zachary Levi & Djimon Hounsou)

This is an especially interesting entry as it features two actors who have previously appeared in the MCU and are now jumping ship to the DC Extended Universe.

Though Warner Bros.' franchise has struggled so far to put out consistently quality content, the first trailer for Shazam! looks like a sensibly light-hearted, lower-budget affair.

The titular superhero is played by Zachary Levi, who played Thor's pal Fandral in the latter two Thor movies (after original actor Josh Dallas was unable to return). From a fairly forgettable Marvel sidekick to an iconic DC superhero? Not bad at all.

Djimon Hounsou, who of course played Korath in Guardians of the Galaxy and will reprise that role in Captain Marvel, is also on-board to play The Wizard Shazam, who bestows young Billy Batson (Asher Angel) with his superheroic abilities. Hounsou sure has been busy, considering he will also play the Fisherman King in Aquaman.

Honestly, it wouldn't be remotely surprising if Shazam! ends up a bigger hit than just about anyone expected, with its obvious kid-friendly appeal and a breezier tone hewing closer to that of the MCU.
