4. No-One Says The Word Ewok
The fluffy, hamster-esque inhabitants of Endor played their part in taking the Empire down during the final third of Return of the Jedi but it wasn't really explained what the critters are/were.
Granted, quite a lot of characters and species aren't given names until the official companion guides are released some time after the films hit cinema, but for such key players in the final chapter of the original trilogy to be completely nameless is a bit much.
There are rumours, which cannot be confirmed at this time, that the term Ewok didn't reach the public conscious until Warwick Davis' Wicket action figure hit the shelves with the word emblazoned across the front.
However we found out what they're called, it's a daft name and it would've made more sense to use Wookiees instead of introducing a new species...
