20 Worst Moments In Wizarding World Movies

8. Occlumency Subplot - Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix

Harry Potter
Warner Bros.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is not as bad as you might remember and it is overall a good, consistently fun ride, even if it's not one of the very best in the series. Then again, it was adapting arguably the weakest book of the series (the book is still great, it's just not as good as the other six).

In terms of individual scenes, the worst part is the entire subplot with Snape (Alan Rickman) teaching Harry Occlumency. This is all rushed, doesn't really go anywhere and Snape's worst memory, which was such an important thing in the books, is reduced to sped-up montage that isn't even called back to in the Snape's memories scene of Deathly Hallows Part 2.

After Harry causes Snape to recall this memory with a spell (it isn't clear exactly how this worked), Snape tells him the lessons are over and kicks him out. After this, nothing about Occlumency is ever even mentioned again, making this feel like a waste of time.
