20 Worst Movie Moments Of 2019

1. X-Men - Dark Phoenix - The Awful End To A Great Franchise

Still, as awful as all the aforementioned movie moments were, none of them can compare to this heart-breakingly awful ending to the once-strong X-Men franchise.

The X-Men franchise has been a mostly awesome one over the years and it was also the series that really kicked modern superhero cinema off with the 2000 original, so it really deserved a great send-off in its last film before the characters join the MCU. Unfortunately, the final installment was not only awful but presented one of the worst series endings in any franchise ever.

Following an appallingly boring finale, after which Jean Grey turns into a phoenix (or something), the franchise's final scenes show Beast taking over the academy and Professor X and Magneto randomly playing chess in Paris like old friends.

That's it.

There's no closure for the characters, no satisfying conclusion to their arcs, no commentary on the mutants' place in the world, no emotion, nothing.

This is not just the worst film moment of last year, but one of the worst of the entire decade, and frankly this boring, abysmally-written and painfully disappointing ending was a sad viewing that'll break your heart better than a Nicholas Sparks adaptation ever could.
