20 Worst Movie Moments Of 2019

14. Countdown - The Sequel Bait Ending

Countdown is one of the worst horror movies of the year. It's badly-written, messy, not scary at all and also gets bogged down in a bizarre subplot involving a pervert doctor who the protagonist tries to kill in order to save herself from a curse.

In general, it's a dud and there's no way around it. So, who wants to see a sequel? It's fair to say that everyone who would actually reply "Yes" to that could probably fit into a phone-booth. Unfortunately, Countdown does hint at a sequel at the end. After the villainous demon who's controlling the titular app is destroyed, protagonist Quinn (Elizabeth Lail) discovers Countdown 2.0 has downloaded itself onto her phone.

It's bad enough that a sequel was being hinted at, but this was the laziest, most eye-roll inducing possible way to set up another movie and in an era when horror is reviving and moving beyond tame PG-13 ghost stories like this, such errors are even less welcome and acceptable than they used to be.
