20 Worst Movies Of 2014

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Rotten Tomatoes: 22% From the moment Michael Bay decided to take another beloved children's property and wring all of the appeal out in some cynical financial attempt to bank big nostalgia bucks, this film was doomed in many eyes. Even the fact that he wasn't in the director's chair wasn't enough to redeem it, and those expectations were wholly realised when the film bore more hallmarks of Bay's self-indulgent style than even the latest Transformers film. The new Turtles themselves weren't as bad as originally supposed - though their design was somewhat problematic - but the real issue was the numb-headed script that was full of holes and dripped with idiocy. It wasn't just bad, it seemed to delight in how stupid it was, and the disbelief at its driving revelations was only matched in size by the disgust that this franchise is only one step down a three step journey. Sample Review:
"Heroes in a half-arsed shell." Olly Richard, Empire
