20 Worst Movies Of 2014

17. Third Person

Rotten Tomatoes: 23% Good: A stellar cast. Bad: Paul Haggis in charge of said cast. For some reason the director has traded all ability to tell stories and spin narratives in an engaging, entertaining manner for a relentless commitment to grimness that makes watching anything he makes a slog. Third Person seems to wilfully sabotage all of its intriguing elements: failing to craft anything compelling despite lots of promise. And the worst of it is, it seems to revel in its relentless blandness (how else could you explain the 137 minute run time?) Sample Review:
"What is it with Paul Haggis? Has he forgotten how to tell a simple story?" Wendy Ide, The Times
