20 Worst Movies Of 2015

17. Terminator Genisys

Rotten Tomatoes: 25% After the success of Jurassic World and its gleefully blatant embrace of nostalgia, it's hard not to feel like we were all duped into liking Terminator Genisys on a promise of something it definitely wasn't. What everyone hoped was that it would wipe out the awfulness of Terminators 3 and Salvation with a time-bending return to the heady days of Judgement Day with a very talented cast (and Jai Courtney) and the promise of a smart script that would definitely not fall into the paradox trap. What we got was a jock-stupid sci-fi that replaced any attempt of explaining its flawed science and logic with a classified firewall, a new version of Skynet dependant on the development of a new super futuristic app (which was basically bluetooth), and brick-dumb characters. Yes there were sparse successful elements - like Arnold Schwarzenegger's hilarious performance - but the fact that his central relationships are reimagined as a Meet The Parents sitcom is indication enough that even he wasn't going to elevate it.
