2. Bad Kids Of Crestview Academy
Just about the only thing you can say about Bad Kids Of Crestview Academy is that it has Sean Astin and Gina Gershon in. That's not actually a positive, but it's at last vaguely remarkable. Improbably it's a sequel, which begs two questions: why did nobody know the first existed, and why was this then made off the back of its obvious lack of success?
The film is based on a best-selling graphic novel series, so it should have had a small captive audience, but anyone who did happen to notice it being quietly released would have quickly discovered why it was dumped out without fanfare.
It's essentially a black horror comedy, which is neither black enough horrific enough nor comic enough, which tries to replace substance with gore and fails to inject the teen spirit that might have made it more arresting. It's vaguely notable for the silly deaths, but if that's all you want, you'd be far more rewarded by the likes of Saw and Final Destination.
Their terribleness is at least a whole other level above.
