6. Gun Shy

Imagine a world where someone legitimately pitches a mash-up of Spinal Tap and Taken and adds Antonio Banderas for maximum weirdness and you're living the reality where Gun Shy somehow exists.

He stars as Turk Enry, a party-guy bass player who is forced on an unlikely rescue mission when his supermodel girlfriend is kidnapped. Basically, it's like a Pauly Shore movie made 20 years too late with the wrong lead actor. It's just as vulgar and abrasive and annoying, and you come out of it genuinely pitying Banderas.

It's never quite silly enough for the silliness to work and that's pretty fatal for a film whose only redeeming point should have been how game it was to take the piss out of itself. And that makes it curiously boring, despite the ridiculous premise.
