20 Worst Movies Of 2018 (So Far)

Nobody asked for a remake of the cult classic 1974 Charles Bronson revenge thriller, but we got one regardless. Though hiring Eli Roth to direct it at least promised some gnarly, gonzo fun, the movie is ultimately as serious as a funeral and Bruce Willis doesn't even try to hide how utterly pained and bored he seems to be starring in it.

A few amusing death scenes aside this is a bare bones, lazy rehash with no charm, personality or social relevance of its own.

Perhaps reinventing the Paul Kersey character as a black man might've been interesting in the age of Black Lives Matter, but otherwise there feels like little good reason to revive this fetid corpse of a franchise.

Worst Moment: One of Kersey's (Willis) vigilante rampages causes him to become an Internet meme known as the "Grim Reaper".

Like everything else in the film, it's a shambling, clumsy mess, and plays as though written and directed by old men trying to be "down with the fellow kids". Oof.
