7. The Misfits

Chaos Walking Daisy Ridley Tom Holland
Avenue Entertainment

The latest schlock-fest from director Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2: Die Harder) and writer Kurt Wimmer (Ultraviolet) at least can't be accused of taking itself too seriously, though it also never rises above being a dollar-store riff on the Fast and Furious franchise.

The budget, for the record, was reportedly $15 million - literally a fraction of F9's price tag.

A heist comedy hinged single-handedly on Pierce Brosnan's easy charms, The Misfits offers very little else worthwhile, as even the admittedly ridiculous action is staged without much flair or sense of fun.

All in all this is yet another pedestrian, low-budget blockbuster that feels conceived largely to serve as a tax write-off for its producers. Brosnan is game, for sure, but deserves so, so much better.
