16. Devil's Light
In Devil's Light (also known as Prey for the Devil), the Catholic Church are compelled to retrain exorcists after a wave of demonic possessions sweep the world. Although nuns are forbidden to perform exorcisms, Father Quinn recognises Sister Ann's experiences with demons and so, agrees to tutor her.
Even though Devil's Light has an interesting premise, decent effects, and surprisingly good acting, it's formulaic as hell. It rehashes tropes we've seen in possession features like The Rite and The Devil Inside (which were also terrible). The Devil's Light concludes with an insultingly obvious twist and a scene that sets up a sequel that's guaranteed never to see the light of day.
Also, there are so many ineffective jump-scares, it starts being unintentionally hilarious after a while. If you're laughing your head off at a horror flick centred around demon possession, you know the filmmakers screwed up.
