20 Worst Netflix Original Movies EVER

17. Thunder Force

In recent years Melissa McCarthy has moved her conveyor-belt of low-effort comedy vehicles - most of them also written and directed by her husband, Ben Falcone - to streaming, and one of the worst must surely be Netflix's Thunder Force.

McCarthy and Octavia Spencer star as two childhood best friends who become crime-fighting superheroes, and while the potential is certainly there to satirise the well-trod superhero genre, Thunder Force would rather just be a thunderously lame example of it.

There's distressingly little imagination in Falcone's script, but worst of all it's just painfully unfunny, with McCarthy's undeniable comedic chops wasted on scrawled-on-a-cocktail-napkin "funny" dialogue.

The only solace is a fleetingly amusing supporting performance from Jason Bateman as McCarthy's mutant love interest, The Crab, who literally has crab arms. Other than that, this is totally DOA.
