Bright was one of Netflix's very first blockbuster projects - a bold mix of buddy cop thriller and fantasy yarn that unsurprisingly turned out to be a confused mess of ideas and tones.

Will Smith and Joel Edgerton provide fitful entertainment in the lead roles of cop and orc respectively, but despite the strong production values and enviable cast, there's desperately little meat on these bones.

If you can remember a single thing about Bright's story, characters, or dialogue, you're probably lying, because director David Ayer and writer Max Landis somehow take a divertingly weird premise and makes it feel like an anonymous, identikit studio thriller entirely devoid of personality.
