20 WTF 2015 Movie Moments You Probably Missed

15. Happy Ending Out Of Nowhere - The Longest Ride

After lovers Luke (Scott Eastwood) and Sophia (Britt Robertson) break up and go their separate ways, they receive phone calls from the lawyer of Ira (Alan Alda), the elderly man they saved from a car accident some time prior. Ira has passed away, and they are invited to attend an auction of his items, leading to Luke purchasing the first painting up for sale. Luke then reconciles with Sophia as commotion breaks out at the auction, as it was stipulated in Ira's will that whoever bought the first painting (of Ira's late wife) would receive his entire collection, as this one meant the most to him. As such, Luke is suddenly super-wealthy, doesn't need to ride bulls for a living anymore, and gets to live the easy life with Sophia happily ever after. It's a Nicholas Sparks movie so you expect an absurd ending, but this was about as hilariously neat and tidy as things get. Try not to roll your eyes as the credits hit.
