When heading back to the Red Queen's chamber later in the movie, we return to the infamous laser hallway, which oddly no longer contains the corpses of the four commandos sliced and diced by the lasers.

This causes Kaplan to ask with a distinctly Resident Evil-esque delivery, "Where are the bodies? Where did they go?"

Paul W.S. Anderson included this weird and unexplained plot point as a nod to the video games, where if players back-tracked to an area where they'd previously killed zombies, the corpses would disappear due to the technical limitations of games at the time.

It makes no sense in the context of the narrative, but it's a pretty fun tip of the hat to the source material nevertheless.
