If you've been following our series documenting the WTF moments from Joel Schumacher's Batman movies Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, you'll know that the series has had its share of off-the-wall moments over the years. But it wouldn't be fair to give Schumacher all the credit now, would it? Tim Burton changed the cinematic landscape forever when he directed the first big-budget Batman movie, and enormously successful though it was, when viewed in a post-Nolan era it's something of a bizarre relic above all else. Full of peculiar aesthetic choices, questionable creative decisions and one very zany Joker performance, 1989's Batman is an entertaining if flawed oddball of a film.
